In most cases, pupils are assigned to the appropriate classes/teaching groups from the MIS.


It is possible for admin users to create additional groups directly in Classroom Monitor. These can be useful for ease of assessment and data tracking, for example in-class groups, sets or intervention groups. A pupil can belong to multiple groups as all pupil assessment information is attached to the pupil's record rather than the group.


To create additional groups, admin users should be on the Settings page:

  1.  Group Management - Name and Create Group.

  2.  Pupil Group Membership - Select the new group from the drop down menu and then select and add the relevant pupils to the group - Save Changes.

  3. Teacher Group Management - Select the new group from the drop down menu and then select and add the relevant teacher(s) to the group - Save Changes.


The new group will then be available to assess against for the allocated teacher(s).
